Bio

I am a poet and essayist living in Seattle, Washington, with two cats and a love song of a partner. A former university professor, I work now with antiques, which isn’t that much of a change, since I was trained as a Victorianist.

The world, for me, oscillates between profound burning, the sensual experience, and the awareness of that experience as fleeting. My writing, then, both has to engage with and to fend off preemptive nostalgia, to note and resist the loss latent in any exquisite moment, so I can find the light in the burning, instead of burning out.
